Do Cockapoos require much grooming?

Offspring outcomes are endless

Like most answers it depends on what your cockapoo has inherited from their parents. Cockapoos are not true breeds therefore the offspring outcomes are endless.
Having said that, you must keep an eye on your dogs fur.  If he is prone to matting and tangles keep him brushed on a regular basis or the hair will become too matted and you have to have it shaved off.. The hair varies from dog to dog, but brushing frequently will insure that your dog always looks well groomed. As your puppy matures to an adult, he/she will require clipping.

A good groomer is paramount

Try and find a groomer in your area (the good ones will be booked up weeks in advance) and stick to them. Cockapoos can be very nervous around strangers and you will need a groomer every 6 to 12 weeks depending on the fur. You want your poo to have the best experience possible each time.

Try it yourself

You could invest in a grooming kit and try to do it yourself. If you are going down this route, start as early as possible to get your pup used to it.
It is recommended not to start grooming too early. First proper groom should be anything from 6 months upwards. But a visit now and then for a trim with your puppy will alleviate your dogs anxiety in the future.
